Shooting at Bulldog Inn leads to drug stash and and weapons cache

By Joe Johnson

When investigating a shooting at a motel last week, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department came across a drug stash and weapons cache.

Officers responded to the Bulldog Inn on Commerce Road the night of May 19th to investigate a reported aggravated assault.

Upon arrival they learned that the victim had been driven to the hospital after supposedly being accidentally shot in his leg.

He was identified as Terrance Latrance Grant, a 22-year-old suspected gang member who, in a jury trial last year, was acquitted on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

The room was being rented by Scrirroco Glenn, a 49-year convicted felon with a history of drug arrests. He told police that he didn’t know what happened when Grant was shot because he was in the bathroom at the time. He also said that he didn’t know the victim.

Police said that video evidence had shown that people moved back and forth between the room where Grant was shot and the adjacent room.

After securing warrants to search both rooms, police found and seized over 30 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia that includes used glass pipes and packaging materials, a modified AR-15 assault rifle, a mini Draco AK-47 assault pistol, a pair of 9mm pistols, and over 100 rounds of ammunition.
