Elderly suspect in custody after Athens dentist office shooting

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has released the following:

On December 1, 2025, at approximately 6:38 AM, ACCPD responded to a report of gunshots in

the 900 block of Baxter Street. Upon arrival, officers located a female in a business who

sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services responded, and she was transported

to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Further investigation led officers to identify the suspect as Carl Clark, 74-year-old male of

Athens, GA. Clark was located and taken into custody and is being charged with Aggravated

Assault, Aggravated Battery and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is
