An Athens woman was allegedly assaulted Tuesday while at the hospital visiting her brother who had been shot two days earlier, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

The 26-year-old woman reported that she was visiting her brother, 27-year-old Washington Drive resident Keyron Lenor Pass, who was shot multiple times early Sunday morning at the Nellie B Homes apartment complex and subsequently transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

While checking on Pass, the woman said her sister came up from behind and strangled her, according to the police report.

An officer noted in the report that he observed scratches on the woman’s neck and chest.

The woman said that she had been having problems with her 46-year-old sister, who “causes drama and drags her into it,” according to the report.

The woman’s other brother witnessed the alleged assault.

He said that “they were at the hospital and he saw (the suspect) grab her sister from behind and begin to choke her out,” according to the report.

The officer wrote in the report that based on physical and testimonial evidence, he would be seeking a warrant charging the suspect with aggravated assault under the state Family Violence Act.
