Local Heroes Honored at Winder Police Department's 2023 Achievement Awards

The Winder Police Department recently presented its annual achievement awards in recognition of outstanding work of its officers and staff.

Officer Kenneth Bailey received the Top Fitness award for 2023, having recorded the fastest time on the annual Physical Assessment Test. His time of 3 minutes and 26 seconds was faster than the department's average completion time.

Daniel Evans and Officer Harrell were acknowledged for their shooting skills, receiving the Top Gun awards for patrol rifle and pistol respectively. Both officers showed high accuracy in their annual qualification courses. Harrell was also honored for his 25 years of service with the Winder Police Department and the City of Winder.

Tristen Perrin was recognized for completing his POST Field Training Officer certification, a challenging 40-hour course. His achievement shows his dedication to professional growth and excellence in his role. Jon Yarbrough and Detective Wayne Manthe were also acknowledged for their long-term service to the Winder Police Department, with 15 and 10 years of service respectively.

The 2023 Winder Police Employee of the Year award was presented to Crime Analyst Darcy Sibilsky. Known as an excellent employee with a positive attitude, Sibilsky has been key in solving many crimes in Winder using various computer tools and technology services.

Chief Fullington commended Sibilsky for her consistent commitment to assisting other WPD officers and agencies in crime prevention, emphasizing her commitment to service. The awards ceremony was a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the Winder Police Department's officers and staff.
