A motorcyclist was recently arrested for leaving the scene of an alcohol related crash in which his passenger was seriously injured.
According to Athens-Clarke County police, the incident occurred on Jan. 27, when Silas Stephanos was driving a motorcycle in the area of Pulaski and Reese streets.
Stephanos reportedly was involved in a single vehicle crash, police said, and his 18-year-old female passenger was thrown from the motorcycle.
The biker reportedly drove away from the scene, but officers later found him in the area of Lumpkin and Clayton streets, where he was taken into custody for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury, and failure to maintain lane.
“The passenger was transported to a local hospital by EMS with suspected serious injuries,” said police Lt. Shaun Barnett.
