Driver trapped when car overturned at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center

The following was released by the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department
Last Saturday (11/15/25) at approximately 5:00 pm, units responded to a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment in the area of Prince Ave. and Talmadge Dr.

Engine 24, Rescue 4, Ladder 1 and Hazmat 1 responded to a vehicle on its side in front of Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. Units on scene confirmed one individual was trapped.
Members stabilized the vehicle and extricated the victim, who was then transferred to National EMS for medical care.

The patient had minor injuries. No structural damage to any buildings.
NOTE:
The police department would not release the accident report to me unless I requested it along with a “statement of need.”
Classic City News had filed such a statement in which it was certified that the report was being requested solely for news gathering purposes.
It used to be that the one statement was sufficient for all future requests, but now the police department is requiring statements of need each and every time an accident report is requested,
