Fatal wreck causes closure of Ga, 10 Loop in Athens

A portion of the outer Ga. 10 Loop was closed Wednesday morning due to a fatal car accident.

The closure caused extensive traffic delays before it was reopened at about 8:45 a.m.

Officers from the Athens Clarke County Police Department and Oconee County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene to redirect motorists from the affected area, between the U.S. Highway 441 and Macon Highway interchanges near the Oconee County line.
