Science fact of the day: Gharials are quite large

Gharials are one of only two species in the Gavialidaefamily and are easily identified by their long, narrow snouts.

They are one of the largest crocodilian species, with males growing up to 16 – 20 ft. long and females reaching lengths of 11.5 – 15 ft.
