Search for missing woman with dementia ends tragically

After three days of searching for 77-year-old Lilie Mae Wade authorities have found her deceased.

The West Hawthorne Road resident who had dementia was located in the area of Dairy Pak Road at about 1:30 this afternoon.

Ms. Wade had been the subject of extensive search efforts by state and local agencies that included the use of K-9 units, a helicopter, and officers on foot, driving all-terrain vehicles and operating drones.

Ms. Wade had last been seen late Friday afternoon on Dairy Pak Road in northern Athens off Barber Street.
