An Athens man was pulling into his home on McNutts Creek Drive the evening of June 20th when 41-year-.old Joshua Singletary jumped into the bed of his pickup truck.
The man got on the phone with 911 and told police he was going to drive until officers were able to locate him.
When an officer spotted the truck on Epps Bridge Road, he could see Singletary lying in the truck’s bed and waving his arms around.
He remained behind the truck until it pulled into the parking lot of Quality Glass and ordered the man to get out.
Singletary tried to claim that he knew the driver who was taking him somewhere, but the driver explained he never saw the interloper before.
Singletary was then arrested for loitering and prowling and taken to the county jail..
His address is listed on the jail’s website as being the Potter’s House Recovery Program in Jefferson.
Bail was set at $1,500 but it had yet to be posted as of Thursday morning.
