Three arrested for Athens home invasion

Authorities arrested three men in connection a home invasion armed robbery earlier this month at an eastside apartment complex, Athens-Clarke County police said.

According to the victim, the incident occurred at Fourth Street Village the afternoon of June 5 when an armed intruder with a black bandanna covering his face forced his way into the victim’s home and demanded money, police said.

According to police, the robber got away with the victim’s wallet and undisclosed “personal items.”

The victim gave police a detailed description of the masked man: a medium-complexioned black male with no facial hair between 19 and 25 years old who was about 6-feet-1, 170 pounds, and had his hair cut in a low fade with the top going straight upwards about 1 or 2 inches ending with loose curls.

During an investigation, detectives believed that three people had been involved in the incident.



However, charges against one of the alleged suspects were dismissed Wednesday afternoon.The others were were identified by police as Joseph McElhannon, 18, of Lexington and Maryon Davis, 17, of Crawford .

Those suspects were each charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault,police said.
