Man found dead at bottom of rock quarry in Elbert County

The Elbert County Coroner’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead at a quarry Monday morning.

According to the coroner’s office, 36-year -old Michael Alan Watts of Elberton died following an incident that occurred at around 7:24 a.m. at a granite quarry off of Cedar Creek Road.

The investigation is ongoing.
